As the horrible situation in Gaza continues on day after day, it is hard not to give up hope of any form of real. . .lasting. . .peace.
As my wife and I walked into a restaurant yesterday, I told her of my discouragement regarding this situation as well as others (Iraq, Syria, etc.). It all seems so hopeless.
But then I remembered a verse of encouragement – a verse of hope – from the Injil:
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.'”
(The Injil, The Good News According to Matthew, chapter 19, verse 26).
This is also expressed elsewhere:
“. . .nothing is impossible with God.”
(The Injil, The Good News According to Luke, chapter 1, verse 37)
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
(The Tawrat, Genesis, chapter 18, verse 14)
“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
(The Prophet Jeremiah, chapter 32, verse 17)
I know people on both sides still have their wills.
I know their hearts on both sides have to be changed for their to be real peace.
But God still calls me to pray. To cry out to Him.
Because nothing is impossible with God. . .
Thank you so much for these encouraging words! God bless!
