As a follower of Jesus, this is my prayer for Hamas and Israel. . .
“For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. . . He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.”
(Ephesians 2:14-16 in the Injil)
The hurt is so real – on both sides.
The anger and bitterness is so deep – on both sides.
I believe only Isa al Masih – Jesus – can bring peace between Hamas and Israel.
But the peace that Jesus brings begins in the heart.
Only in turning to him can hearts be changed.
Only in turning to him can there be love instead of hate.
Jesus wants to bring oneness.
Jesus wants to bring reconciliation.
Jesus wants to bring an end to mangled bodies and funerals.
I know that you, my Muslim friends (and the Jews as well), do not believe in Jesus’ death on the cross. But this is not the time for me to be “politically correct.” This is not the time for me to fear offending you. No, this is the time for me to respectfully share what I believe to be the only answer for peace.
Jesus.
The Prince of Peace.
Yes. Yes! Jesus is the Prince of peace. He is the love of God.
Amen!!!
