Dear Muslim and Christian friends,
I don’t travel overseas like I used to but recently I was blessed to go to Lebanon. I love the Middle East and have been there many times but I had never been to this amazing and beautiful country.
You have to love Lebanese – and Syrian – food!
You have to love Lebanese sights!
The beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. . .
I visited a church and I visited a mosque in Beirut.
But really, I came to Lebanon to see. . .the refugees.
It was a great blessing to walk in the poorer neighborhoods of Beirut where many Syrian refugees live.
It was good to gain a view from a rooftop in that poor neighborhood of an old Orthodox church and in the other direction. . .a mosque.
Think of all the refugees who live in this neighborhood and in camps all over Lebanon. Desperate, hurting people. Heartbroken over losing family members, homes, jobs – all that was familiar and good.
So stretch out your hands and pray for Lebanon. 2 million Syrian refugees are there.
Lebanon.
I loved the food, the sights, but mostly. . .I loved the refugees.
